So yeah, there's your cliche story about Metallica. So when I heard about the remasters, I was so fuckin pumped about hearing that song again that it was the first thing I popped on when I saw it dropped. Now, Fade to Black is my favorite Metallica track, and favorite song in general. Then I started listening to it in the car, and then Turn the Page got stuck in my head, and then from there I started listening to not only Metallica, but music in general. Funny thing was, I knew a lot of those songs because I used to play Rock Band and Guitar Hero, so I got used to it. Somehow or another, I ended up hearing a lot of Metallica, Black Sabbath, Ozzy, and some other classic bands because my dad and brother would listen to them while working out, and my desk was near the weight equipment. Eventually, I started listening to video game soundtracks like Halo, Bastion, Black Mesa and Brutal Legend, but still no lyrics. I didn't like lyrics because I thought they were distracting, and I just didn't like much music. Somewhere along the way, I just stopped listening to it, and music entirely. I grew up in a Christian family, so the only kind of music I knew was Christian pop and rock. I didn't start listening to Metallica up until fall of 2014-ish because at the time, I didn't listen to music much at all.
